The big moment from Obama’s Congressional health care speech?

An amazing and massive unforced error from GOP Representative Joe Wilson.

Wilson’s apologized, but I’m going to guess it’s much too little, far too late for Wilson’s outburst (he yelled, “You lie,” at Obama during the early portion of the speech.) Republicans need to work hard to separate the party from the partisan nutjobs out there and public spectacles like this are a large step in the wrong direction.

  1. Dear Joe,

Nice to see you coming to life after 8 years of sleep. You said something about lies–here’s a few you must have missed:

I guess you got those WMD’s,

    and Valerie Plame’s retirement checks,

and the transcripts of the billions of emails and telephone calls recorded by the NSA over the last 6 years

and the no bid contracts for billions to Haliburton and KBR

and the apologies to the US service personnel killed and maimed because of George Bush’s directive from the first cabinet meeting on Jan 31, 2001–“Iraq, find a way”

and video Cheney screaming “Deficits don’t matter” as he channeled billions that would have paid for the health care of every man, woman and child in America for 20 years

and the names of those republican hacks he appointed to the SEC who stood by as people destroyed our whole economy and 17 trillion dollars in retirement savings too.

You need to get down on your knees and beg forgiveness for being stupid enough to have voted not once but twice for George W Bush, the man who just about destroyed America. And with your help actually got away with it
